こんにちは、白山麓事務室の本田です。
　2023年6月3日（土）、白山麓キャンパスでは希望者を対象としたサイクリングイベントを開催しました。
　台風２号の影響で前日も雨が残っていましたが、天気予報では夜から晴れ予報となっていたことから、実施に向け、私と山崎先生とフィリップ先生は参加学生達の自転車点検を実施しました。
　当日は曇り空の涼しいサイクリング日和となり、白山麓キャンパス玄関前に9:00に集合し出発しました。まずは白山麓キャンパスから田園風景の中を下っていきました。白山麓キャンパスから16.5km程走行したところにある樹齢1200年と言われる「五十谷の大杉」まで進み記念写真をパシャリ！ここからは登りが徐々にきつくなり始め、3kmほど先の今回の最高到達点となる標高約390m地点まで登りました。しかし先は長いので無理は禁物です。その後は登った頑張りが報われる長い下り坂を進んでいきました。そして9km程進んだ所にある十二ヶ滝で休憩しました。昨年のサイクリングイベントでは、暑い中、多くの学生が川の中に飛びこみ泳いだ場所です（June 29, 2022 ネイチャー＆アドベンチャークラブ「65kmサイクリング」）。休憩を終え次に向かう目的地は、約23km先の白山比咩神社です。途中、今回最下地点の標高約13m地点まで下ったあと緩やかに上りながら、今回一番の急坂を迎えました。その後、白山比咩神社まで下り基調で脚を休めながら進んでいき、白山比咩神社手前にある吊り橋を渡ったところでようやく昼食休憩です。お店の中で定食を食べたり、大判焼きやたこ焼きを食べたりして、ゆっくり休憩しました。ここから白山麓キャンパスまでは残り約20kmとなりました。ゆったりとした登りを自転車道のキャニオンロードで帰りました。途中13km程進んだ所で大きくて綺麗な綿ヶ滝を背に記念撮影し、標高差90m程を約7kmかけて登り、白山麓キャンパスまで戻ってきました。
　出発する時に曇っていた空も、途中からは青空になり、学生達は日焼けで赤くなっていましたが、転倒やパンク等もなく気持ちよく終えることができました。

 Hello, this is Honda from the Hakusanroku office.
 On Saturday, June 3rd, 2023, Hakusanroku Campus held a cycling event for those who wanted to participate.
 The day before the event, there was still some rain due to Typhoon No. 2, but the weather forecast called for clear skies in the evening, so Yamazaki sensei, Philip sensei, and I inspected the bicycles of the participating students before the event.
 On the day of the event, the weather was cloudy and cool, which is good for cycling. We gathered for departure at 9:00 a.m. at the entrance of Hakusanroku Campus. We started from Hakusanroku Campus and rode down through the countryside. After riding for about 16.5 kms from Hakusanroku campus, we arrived at "Gojyutani no osugi", a 1200 years old cedar, and snapped a commemorative photo! From there, the climb began to get tougher and tougher, and after about 3kms, we reached the highest point of the day, about 390 meters above sea level. However, we still had a long way to go and made a long 9km descent to the Twelve Waterfalls and took a break. This is where many students jumped into the river and swam to cool down during our cycling event last year (June 29, 2022 Nature & Adventure Club 65km Cycling ). After a rest, the next destination was Hakusan Hime Shrine, about 23 kms away. On the way down, we descended to the lowest point of the tour, about 13 meters above sea level, and then gently climbed up to the steepest hill of the trip. After cresting this hill, we continued downhill to Hakusan Hime Shrine, resting our legs, and finally took a lunch break when we crossed the suspension bridge in front of Hakusan Hime Shrine. We had a meal of oobayaki and okonomiyaki in the restaurant. From there, we had about a 20 km ride back to Hakusanroku Campus. We had a leisurely uphill ride back on the Tedori Canyon Road bike path. We took a commemorative photo with the large and beautiful Watarigataki Waterfall in the background at the 13 km point, and then we continued on, climbing 90 meters over the last 7kms before getting back to Hakusanroku campus.
 The sky, which was cloudy when we started out, turned blue during our ride. At the end of the ride all of the students were sunburnt, but we were able to finish the ride comfortably without any falls or flat tires.

 Hello everyone! This is Jomkit Jujaroen, a Learning Mentor. It’s not often that I write these journals, but I wanted to talk a little bit about the Welcome Party, we the Learning Mentors, held for 1st year students at the end of April 2023. Of course, it wasn’t only restricted to the 1st year students; many 2nd year students were also happy to join. 

 We like to hold the Welcome Party at the beginning of every academic year to help remind the students to take a break and enjoy themselves every now and then. This year the party was held on the optional Friday Learning Session. The students enjoyed some activities, like Karaoke at the grand staircase, and playing the popular party game Super Smash Bro’s Ultimate in the project booth. The Learning Mentors also brought many snacks; some were requested, some common crowd pleasers, and even some special snacks from other countries. For instance, Birthday Cake-flavored Oreos and Toffee Crunch-flavored Oreos. 

It was impressive that the 1st and 2nd year students seemed to be having a good time.

　みなさんこんにちは！ラーニングメンターのジョムキット・ジュジャロエンです。私はこのようなジャーナルを書くことはあまりないのですが、2023年4月末に私たちラーニングメンターが1年生のために開催した歓迎会について少しお話しします。もちろん、1年生だけではなく、たくさんの2年生も歓迎会に参加してくれました。

　毎年、年度初めに開催している歓迎会は、学生たちに楽しい時間を過ごしてもらい、息抜きをしてもらうために開催しています。今年は参加が自由となる金曜日のラーニングセッションの時間に歓迎会を開催しました。学生たちはカラオケを大階段でしたり、人気のパーティゲーム「大乱闘スマッシュブラザーズ SPECIAL」をプロジェクトブースでするなど様々な活動を楽しみました。また、ラーニングメンターたちは、学生たちからリクエストのあったお菓子の他に学生たちが好きそうなお菓子やバースデーケーキ味のオレオやトフィークランチ味のオレオといった海外の特別なお菓子をたくさん準備しました。

　楽しそうに過ごしている１、2年生が印象的でした。

　こんにちは、白山麓高専事務室の間加田 侑里です。今回は２月の課外授業で行われた様々なワークショップについて紹介します。

 Hello, this is Yuri Makada from the Hakusanroku office. I would like to write about the various extracurricular workshops held in February.

【ペン回し】

　2023年2月6日（月）、ラーニングメンターのジョムキット・ジュジャロエン先生による「ペン回し」ワークショップが開催されました。ジョムキット先生は普段学業に励んでいる学生たちに何か楽しいことを教えられないかと考えた結果、ジョムキット先生が学生時代にハマっていた「ペン回し」を教えようと、このワークショップを開催したそうです。
　ジョムキット先生は親指を中心にペンを回転させる技や2本の指の間にペンを挟んで回転させる技、4本の指を使ってペンを回転させるトリック技などを学生たちにレクチャーしました。ペン回しに苦戦する学生もいれば、ペンではなくドラムスティックを器用に扱い、指で華麗にドラムスティックを回転させている学生もいました。
　ペン回しという行為は、緊張しているときや難しい課題に取り組んでいるときに、脳に何かを考えるきっかけを与えたり、ペン回しをすることで緊張がほぐれたりすると言われおり、ジョムキット先生は学生たちに身近にある自分のペンを使って、集中力を高めたり、緊張をほぐしたりする助けになれば嬉しいと語りました。

【Pen spinning】

 On Monday, February 6^th, a workshop called Pen Spinning was held by Learning Mentor, Jomkit Jujaroen sensei. Jomkit sensei wanted to teach something fun to students, who are usually hard at work on their schoolwork. He decided to hold this workshop to teach them pen spinning, which Jomkit sensei was addicted to when he was a student.
 Jomkit sensei taught the students pen spinning techniques such as spinning a pen around the thumb, spinning a pen between two fingers and a tricky technique to spin a pen using all four fingers. Some students struggled with pen spinning. Others used a drumstick instead of a pen and spun the drumstick in a spectacular manner.
 The act of pen spinning can help the brain to concentrate when it is nervous or working on a difficult task and spinning a pen can help to relieve tension. He said he would be happy if he could help his students to focus and relax by using their own pens.

【Pythonの基礎を学ぶ】

　2023年2月8日（水）、2月10日（金）、2月15日（水）の3日間、伊藤 周先生による「Pythonの基礎を学ぶ」ワークショップが開催されました。学生たちはPythonの基本的なコードの書き方を学んだ後、条件分岐、繰り返し、乱数生成の関数を学習しました。ワークショップの最後には、プログラムによってランダムに発生させた数字を人間が当てる「数当てゲーム」のプログラムを作成するという課題に取り組み、全員がプログラムを完成させることができました。

【Learning the Basics of Python】

 On Wednesday, February 8th, Friday, February 10th and Wednesday, February 15th, a workshop called Learning the Basics of Python was held by Meguru Ito sensei (Pro.). Students learned how to write basic Python code and then learned functions for conditional branching, iteration and random number generation. At the end of the workshop, the students were challenged to create a program for a number-guessing game in which the player has to guess a random computer-generated number.

【ハンドレタリング】

　2023年2月9日（木）、ラーニングメンターのアン・イソベル・タン先生による「ハンドレタリング」ワークショップが開催されました。ハンドレタリングとは、カリグラフィーと呼ばれる技法の一種で、カラーペンや筆ペンを使ってアルファベットを独特のタッチで書くことです。これによって、スタイリッシュでおしゃれな仕上がりになります。
　学生たちは自分の名前をハンドレタリングするという課題を課され、書体の見本を模写し書き方を何度も練習していたり、思いついた書体で自分の名前をスラスラと書き始めたり、友達の名前をその人のイメージに合わせて書いたりしました。学生たちが書いた文字は、手書き文字ならではの温かさや柔らかさが表れていました。

【Hand Lettering】

 On Thursday, February 9th, a workshop called Hand Lettering was held by Learning Mentor, Anne Isobel Tan sensei. Hand lettering is a calligraphy technique in which the alphabet is written using colored pens or brush pens. This gives it a unique and stylish look.
 Students were assigned the task of hand-lettering their own names and some students copied a sample typeface and practiced how to write it over and over again. Other students wrote their names using a type face that came to them in the spur of the moment. Some other students used their image of their classmates to design how names were written by the students showed the warmth and softness that only hand-written letters can express.

【CiRA COREを使ったAIプログラミング】

　2023年2月15日（水）、ラーニングメンターのアピラク・サンゲンチャイ先生による「CiRA COREを使ったAIプログラミング」ワークショップが行われました。CiRA COREはドラッグ&ドロップ式のブロック型プログラミングプラットフォームです。学生たちはプログラムのフローの書き方を学び、物体の識別や顔認証の実験をしました。学生たちはコンピュータが自分の顔を認識してくれたことに驚き、強く関心を示している様子でした。

【AI Programming with CiRA CORE】

 On Wednesday, February 15th, a workshop called AI Programming with CiRA CORE workshop was held by Learning Mentor, Apirak Sang-ngenchai sensei. CiRA CORE is a drag-and-drop block programming platform. Students learned how to write program flows and experimented with object identification and face recognition. The students were surprised that the computer recognized their faces and they showed strong interest in the program.

【動画制作】

　2023年2月17日（金）と2月22日（水）の2日間、ナグワ・ラシィド先生による「動画制作」ワークショップが開催されました。まずは動画制作が得意な3年生のアファフ・アラーさんがZoomで参加者に向けて、動画撮影のコツや編集アプリの紹介、頭の中にあるイメージを書きだすシナリオ制作などをレクチャーした後、学生たちは2グループに分かれ、「実験室ですべきこと、すべきでないこと」を紹介する動画の制作に取り組みました。学生たちは実験室での飲食や髪型、緊急時の対応（事故・応急処置）、実験器具の取り扱いなどを自ら演出、撮影、動画の編集を行いました。

【Filmmaking】

 On Friday, February 17th and Wednesday, February 22nd, a two-day Filmmaking workshop was held by Nagwa Fekri Rashed sensei (Prof.). First, Afaf Alaa, a 3rd

year student who excels at video production, gave a lecture via Zoom to the participants on tips for shooting videos, introducing editing applications and how to use the images in their minds to create scenarios. The students were divided into two groups and worked on a videos introducing What To Do and What Not To Do in the laboratory. Students directed, filmed and edited their own videos about things such as handling emergencies (accidents and first aid), handling lab equipment, as well as rules about hairstyles and eating and drinking in the laboratory.

【送別会】

　2023年2月27日（火）、白山麓キャンパスで寮生活を終える2年生と離任する教員の送別会が行われました。離任する教員の潟辺 豊先生とアン・イソベル・タン先生には、学生たちから寄せ書きと柿田 紗蘭さん（2年生）が描いた似顔絵入りのTシャツが贈られました。その後、学生たちと教員たちはピザを食べながらお話したり、クッキーにアイシングしたりして、白山麓キャンパスで共に過ごす最後の時間を楽しみました。
　4月からの新3年生は、1年間のニュージーランド オタゴポリテクニクで留学生活という新たな冒険が待っています。この留学生活は学生たちにとって、とても大きな経験になることでしょう。新3年生の活躍がより一層楽しみです。

【Farewell Party】

 On Tuesday, February 27th, a farewell party was held at the Hakusanroku campus for the 2nd year students who would be leaving the dormitory and for departing faculty members. The students presented Yutaka Katabe sensei (Prof.) and Learning Mentor, Anne Isobel Tan sensei with message cards and T-shirts with portraits drawn by Saran Kakita, a 2nd year student. Afterwards, students and faculty enjoyed their last time together at the Hakusanroku Campus, talking while eating pizza and decorating cookies together.
 In April, the new 3^rd year students will begin their new adventure of studying abroad at Otago Polytechnic in New Zealand for one year. This study abroad experience will be a great experience for the students. We are look forward to the success of these students.

白山麓Winter Sports Day　2023/02/28

　国語科のKTBです。私は、35歳あたりからスキーの深い魅力に取り憑かれました。その頃の私は、毎年、年齢の数だけスキー場に通うのを目標にして、今はもう営業を停止した白山中宮温泉スキー場へ、多いときは週に３回通っていました（もちろん、今は年齢との勝負はしていません）。粗忽な私は、スキー場の駐車場に板や靴を置き忘れたことがあります。板は一週間後に気づいて取りに行ったところ、既にレンタルショップの方へ回されていました(靴とのサイズが合わなくなっていた上に、右板の目印の「スキー馬鹿」のステッカーが剥がされていて落胆しました)。靴を忘れたのは４月の白馬八方尾根スキー場で、12月になるまで気づきませんでした。駐車場で車中泊していたところを中宮プロスキースクールの広村校長先生から宿舎に誘ってもらったこともあります。地域特産の堅豆腐でお酒も頂きました。チケット売り場のお嬢さんたちからは、「皆勤賞でしたね」と二度言われました。
　かつてスキーはとても人気がありました。土曜日のオールナイターゲレンデのリフトは深夜２時でも30分待ちでした。白山中宮温泉スキー場ではゲレンデ内で冬の花火大会もありました。
　スキーのよいところは（ギターにも同じことが言えますが）、年齢差や性差などを軽く越えて、誰とでもその場で友人になれるところです。苗場のスクールの合宿で、相部屋の中学２年生の「ゆうた」君という男の子と意気投合して、夕食後一緒にナイターゲレンデを滑ったことがあります。「上手な人は転び方もかっこいいですね」と妙なところを誉められたのを思い出しました。
　ニュージーランドにも滑りに行きました。ホテルのエレベーターの中で現地の人に、「どこのスキー場に行ったんだい？」と聞かれて、「トレブルコーン」（非圧雪ゾーンの広大さで有名なスキー場）と答えると、「そいつはエキサイティングだぜ」と笑顔を返してくれました。妻となった女性との仲を取り持ってくれたのもスキーです。新婚旅行ではツェルマットからマッターホルン上の国境を越えて、イタリアの小さな町へ滑り降りたのもよい思い出です。
　とにかく、スキーは私の人生に素敵な彩りを添えてくれました。ですから、白山麓キャンパスに勤務するからには、「スキーの伝道師」としてその魅力を学生たちに伝えたい、という気持ちをずっと持ち続けてきました。　　
　そして、その願いが叶う日が来ました。昨年まではネイチャー＆アドベンチャー（以下N&A）クラブとして実施してきたスキー活動を今年は、「白山麓Winter Sports Day」と称して、2月28日（火）に白山麓キャンパス全体の活動として実施できたのです。その結果、去年はN&Aクラブ員4名、引率教員4名だったのが、今年は白山麓キャンパスの参加希望学生23名、引率教職員17名、総勢40名のスキーヤー、スノーボーダーが集うビッグイベントになりました。
　午前中は、白山一里野温泉スキー学校から3人のインストラクターをお招きして、初心者班（学生6名、木原先生）、初級班（学生6名、津田先生）、中級班（学生8名）の3班が講習を受けました。そして、　上級班（学生3名）はフィリップ先生と私が引率して、難コースを朝からガンガン攻めました。

　レッスン後はスキー場内のレストラン「あいあーる」で食事をとりました。フィリップ先生が“世界一オイシイ！”と絶賛するカツカレーをいただきましたが、揚げたてのとんかつが供されて、おいしかったです。

　※今はフィアンセの彼女に作ってもらえる食事がとてもおいしいので、イチリノは二番になったようです。
　　フィリップ先生の素敵なフィアンセは、石川県立金沢桜丘高等学校出身で、1年生の時の担任が、なんと私だったのです。（私が紹介したわけではありません。これもご縁です。）

 

　そして、午後からは、班別でフリー滑走を楽しみました。中上級班では、フリー過ぎて林道コースから飛び出してしまう学生（学生バンド“Electronic Heart Mothers”のGuitarist）もいました。幸いなことに本人は無事でしたが、引率の山崎先生の心臓が止まりそうになりました。

　午後から私は初心者班の担当をしましたが、午後2時過ぎのリフト上で、一人の学生がこう呟く声を聞きました。
「先生 … 今日僕は風に乗りました。」
　私は定年退職を目前にして、どうやら一人の 「詩人スキーヤー」 誕生の瞬間に立ち会えたようです。

　私事で恐縮ですが、このたび、私は60歳を迎えたところで定年退職を選択いたしました。ですから、これが最後の白山麓ジャーナル執筆となります。4月からは新しいチャレンジ（調理師免許取得のための調理師専門学校への入学）をいたします。ICTでは、学生と共にキャンプしたり、スキーしたり、ギター弾いたり、若い友人ができたように楽しく過ごさせていただきました。3月2日（木）の最後のライヴの後は、また会う約束をするわけでもなく、特にさよならも言わずに別れたのですが、また、会えるような気がしています。

　だって友人なのですから。

“ I rode the wind today.”

                             Hakusanroku Winter Sports Day    February, 28th 2023

 I am KTB, a member of the Japanese language department. I became obsessed with the deeply fascinating sport of skiing around the age of 35. At that time, my goal was to go skiing every year for the same number of days as my age. I used to go to Hakusan Chugu Onsen ski resort, which is no longer in operation, as much as three times a week. (Of course, now I am not competing to go as many times per year as my age). Being a careless person, I once left my skies in the parking of the Chugu ski resort. I noticed this a week later and went to get them, but they already had become rental skis (I was disappointed to find that the boots no longer fit and that the 'Ski Idiot' sticker, which had marked the right ski, had been removed.). And on another day I forgot my boots at Hakuba Happo One ski resort in April and didn't realize it until December. One time when I was sleeping overnight in my car in the parking lot, I was invited to stay at the dormitory by Mr. Hiromura, the principal of Chugu Pro Ski School. I was also given a drink and hard tofu, which is one of this region's specialty foods. The girls at the ticket booth told me twice that I had won a prize for perfect attendance. 
 Skiing used to be very popular. On weekends, there was a 30-minute wait for the lifts on the all-night ski slopes, even at 2 a.m. Hakusan Chugu Onsen ski resort even had a winter fireworks display on the slopes. 
 One of the best things about skiing (and the same can be said for guitar) is that you can make friends with anyone on the spot, transcending age and gender differences. At a ski school camp in Naeba, I once hit it off with a boy I was sharing a room with named "Yuta," a second year junior high school student, and after dinner we skied together on the night slope.
 I also went skiing in New Zealand. In the hotel lift, a local asked me, "Which ski resort did you go to?" When I replied “Treble Cone” (a ski resort famous for its vast zones of powder), he smiled back and said “That's exciting!” It was also skiing that gave me the opportunity to meet the woman who would become my wife.
 Anyway, skiing has added a wonderful color to my life. That is why I have always had the desire to be a "ski evangelist" and convey the charm of skiing to students since I started working at the Hakusanroku Campus.
 And the day came when that wish came true. This year, the skiing activity, which had been held as a Nature and Adventure (N & A) club activity, was held as a Hakusanroku Winter Sports Day on Tuesday, February 28th as an activity for the entire Hakusanroku Campus. As a result, last year there were 4 N & A Club students and 4 faculty members at the event, but this year there were 23 students who wanted to participate and 17 faculty & staff members from ICT, making it a big event with a total of 40 skiers and snowboarders.
 In the morning, three instructors from the Hakusan Ichirino Onsen Ski School were invited to do a training session with three groups: the novice group (6 students & Kihara-Sensei), the beginner group (6 students & Tsuda-Sensei) and the intermediate group (8 students). The advanced group (3 students) was led by Philip-Sensei and me, and we went hard on the difficult course from the morning.
 After the lesson, we had lunch at the Ai-Aru restaurant in the ski resort. I had the curry with pork cutlet, which Philip-Sensei highly praises as "the best in the world!" The curry was delicious, with freshly fried pork cutlets.
 Philip-Sensei said "Ichirino's cutlet curry is the best in the world!" However now "Ichirino" seems to be number two because the food prepared by Philip's fiancée is so delicious. Philip's wonderful fiancée is from Kanazawa Sakuragaoka High School in Ishikawa Prefecture, and her 1^st year homeroom teacher in Sakuragaoka High School was, to my surprise, me (I didn't introduce them to each other, it was just another chance encounter).
 In the afternoon, we enjoyed free skiing with our groups. In the intermediate and advanced group, there was a student (a guitarist in a student band called Electronic Heart Mothers) who flew off of the forest course run because he was too free. Fortunately, he was uninjured, but Yamazaki-Sensei, the leader of the group, thought that his heart had stopped.
 I led the beginner group in the afternoon, and on the lift after 2 p.m. I heard one student muttering,
 “Sensei, today I rode the wind.”
 It seems that on the eve of my retirement, I was present at the birth of a "poet skier".
 On a personal note, I am sorry to say, I have chosen to retire at the age of 60. In April I will be taking on a new challenge (enrolling in a culinary school to obtain a chef's license). I have enjoyed spending time with the students at ICT, camping, skiing, playing the guitar and have felt that they have been like young friends. After the last show of the band on Thursday, March 2nd, we didn't make any promises to meet again, and we didn't say goodbye, but I have a feeling we will see each other again.

　こんにちは、白山麓高専事務室の間加田 侑里です。今回はクリスマスに開催された様々なイベントについて紹介します。
 Hello, this is Yuri Makada from the Hakusanroku office. This time, I would like to write about various Christmas events that were held.

　12月14日（水）、教員たちと学生たちにより、可愛らしい飾りやライトを巻きつけた、華やかで豪華なクリスマスツリーがリビングコモンズに設置され、館内はクリスマスらしい心温まる空間となりました。
 On Wednesday, December 14th, a gorgeous Christmas tree with lovely decorations and lights was set up in the Living Commons by faculty members and students, creating a heartwarming Christmas atmosphere on campus.

 

ジンジャーブレッドハウス作り

　12月17日（土）、白山麓キャンパスのカフェテリア「Golden Eagle Cafeteria」では、クリスマスイベントとしてジンジャーブレッドハウス作りが行われました。ジンジャーブレッドとは、生姜やシナモンなどのスパイスや蜂蜜などが入ったお菓子のことです。学生たちはこのお菓子を家の形にアイシングし、模様を描き、マーブルチョコを使ってカラフルで可愛らしいお家に仕上げました。長時間に渡り制作に没頭する学生や、出来上がったジンジャーブレッドハウスをすぐに食べて味わう学生など、それぞれ思い思いの時間を楽しんでいました。

Gingerbread House Making

 On Saturday, December 17th, the school cafeteria (the Golden Eagle Cafeteria) hosted a Christmas event called gingerbread house making. Gingerbread is a baked sweet made with ginger, cinnamon and honey. The students used icing to build a ginger bread house and drew patterns on it, and then decorated it with colorful chocolate candies to create a lovely house. Some students spent a long time working on their creations and some students finished building their gingerbread house quickly so that they could eat them as soon as possible.

クリスマスパーティー

　今年度は、クリスマスの25日には学生たちが帰省で不在となることから、少し早めの12月21日（水）にクリスマスパーティーを開催しました。ラーニングメンターのアン・イソベル・タン先生、アピラク・サンゲンチャイ先生、ジョムキット・ジュジャロエン先生が用意したカップケーキやクッキー、アイスクリームなどが学生たちに振舞われました。学生たちと教員たちでカラオケやテレビゲーム大会も開催され、大いに盛り上がりました。
　その後、「シークレット・サンタ」が行われました。これは事前に学生たちが好きな食べ物や色、趣味などをアンケート用紙に書き、学生間でランダムに配り、自分の手元に届いたアンケートの回答をもとに相手へプレゼントを選びます。「シークレット・サンタ」はその名の通り、サンタさんが誰なのか正体を伏せて行うクリスマスプレゼント交換のことです。
　クリスマスプレゼントを受け取り開封する際、学生たちの目はキラキラと輝いていて、クリスマスらしい暖かい雰囲気になっていました。学生たちが受け取ったプレゼントはスポーツ用品や雪遊び道具、食品やオリジナルTシャツなど、贈る相手のことを思って選んだ心温まる品物ばかりでした。学生たちは、自分にプレゼントをくれたサンタが誰なのか考えるのも楽しかったのではないでしょうか。

Christmas Party

 This year, the Christmas party was held on Wednesday, December 21st. This was a little early because the students would be at home on Christmas Day (December 25th). Learning Mentors, Anne Isobel Tan sensei, Apirak Sang-ngenchai sensei, and Jomkit Jujaroen sensei prepared cupcakes, cookies, and ice cream for the students. Karaoke and video game contests were also held between the students and faculty members, which was a lot of fun.
 After that, "Secret Santa" was held. Students had written down their favorite foods, colors, hobbies, etc. on questionnaires and these were distributed randomly among the students. As the name suggests, "Secret Santa" is a Christmas gift exchange in which the identity of the gift giver is kept secret.
 When the students received and opened their Christmas gifts, their eyes sparkled and the atmosphere was warm and festive. The gifts received by the students included sports equipment, snow toys, food, original T-shirts, all thoughtful items chosen with the recipients in mind. The students enjoyed thinking about guessing who their Secret Santa was.

クリスマススペシャルディナー

　12月22日（木）、カフェテリア「Golden Eagle Cafeteria」では、クリスマススペシャルディナーが提供されました。イチゴのショートケーキや、手のひらサイズの大きなローストチキンなど、クリスマスらしい食事が用意され、ローストチキンはジューシーで食べ応えがあり、学生たちには「美味しい！！」と評判でした！

Christmas Special Dinner

 On Thursday, December 22nd, the Golden Eagle Cafeteria served a special Christmas dinner. This included strawberry shortcake and a large serving of roast chicken that was bigger than the palm of your hand. The roast chicken was juicy and satisfying, and the students said it was delicious!!!
